Funny story...my boys (ages 3 & 5) and I love to listen to The Spirit in the car! We got in the car one day and I didn't turn the radio on. My three-year-old said, "Mom, turn on some Jesus music!" Thank you so much for lifting us up every day! Carrie-Cedar Rapids

I want you all to know what a wonderful radio station 89.1 is. I listen to them all the time and don't know what I'd do without the music. It has inspired me and I have shared with my family and friends the gifts this radio station has. My children also listen to you and are grooving to your beat!!! I have recently been told that my faith is innocent and fresh. That I seem to have music flowing through me and praise/worship out of me. I have been called to God to serve Him and I hope to do this well.God Bless everyone out there and God Bless this station!!!!!!!

I just wanted to let you guys know that this station has played a BIG roll in my life.... My friend introduced this station to me about a year ago and i thought it was kind of weird cause ive been either listening to 102.9 and then started 101.9 and going from gospel to this was a weird change.... It brought me to god when i wasnt having a good relationship with him! Now i worship or i sing to the songs wherever im at! I dont care whos watching, just the fact im singing for my God it brings joy to me! But now i dont listen to secular music anymore i listen to christian. I love it especially now i listen to this station like 24/7 or whenever i turn on the radio....the song "Me and Jesus" by stellar kart played on the radio the day i thought everybody hated me and i wasnt loved and now i know that i do have a god whos out there for me and he loves me just the way i am. i dont have to be a different person around him....just myself! I want to thank 89.1 for being there for me in my bad times and celebrating with me on the GOOD times!!!! Kristen

Hey all you people at 89.1 The Spirit! I wanted to let you all know that your radio station has been playing a big role in my life lately.? I am in drivers ed, so when I took the drivers ed car out with my instructor and a non-Christian friend, I was sick of whatever was playing on the radio station so I changed it to your station.? It's now what I play every time I'm in the car with these people.? I'm so glad you guys are on the air to help me share the Gospel!

Thanks for providing great music here in the Cedar Rapids Area.

It will be awesome watching you grow here in our area and I pray that your station touches many listeners.

The other morning when getting ready for my day, I turned on my radio as I always do, and 89.1 was not coming in!??I realized that the station was having some sort of technical difficulty, but it made me think for a moment how different my family's life would be without positive Christian music and without 89.1 in our lives.
?
All my Christian life, God has seemed to speak to me through music.? My husband turned me on to 89.1 a few years ago, and now?our children who are 12 and 9 choose to listen to your station and the positive music you play.? The right song seems to come on, just when one of us need encouragement or an uplifting word, and we know that is no coincidence.
?
This summer?my mother unexpectedly had three cardiac arrests in a matter of a couple days and instantly my world seemed to be crashing around me.? Time after time as I would be driving to or from the hospital feeling discouraged and hopeless as my mom was unresponsive and in critical condition, Praise You in the Storm by Casting Crowns would come?through the speakers in my car as?89.1 was tuned in.? I feel God provided the words of the song for me at the right?time to encourage me and to tell me to trust Him and to praise Him through?this storm that was surrounding me.? I know nothing can take the place of God's Word.??Spending time with Him in His word, combined with?listening to?the music that you play, has?sustained me these last few months.? Thank you for being?a "voice" of encouragement to so many, including me.?
?
On a side note:? God brought my mom through her three cardiac arrests, has strengthened her and?she is?still here with us today.? She's getting stronger day by day, and I praise Him for what He has done!?
?
God bless you and the work you do!
Julie

"I can only imagine was on", and I got to my knees raised my hands and praised God for what he has done in my life. Then I started to feel a presence with me and it seemed like God was with me. I felt his hands and then I gave him a hug I evan rested my head on his chest. I hope I never forget that time.

The power of The Spirit has made a wonderful change in my life.? Listening reminds me every day of the power behind God and how much He impacts my life.? Plus listening to The Spirit reminds me to keep cool while driving.? The positive music keeps me calm and reminds me to have patience with everyone.

Thank you!? Kristal

For years, I knew that I mostly followed melodies and rhythms of music, and only picked up on the words after a long time of listening. After listening to The Spirit, I found myself picking up on words much more quickly. I realized then that my mind had been cautious about the messages present in the music I used to listen to. So I was missing out on one of the key elements of music. Of course I never cared for the music that some stations play that have to blank out every 3rd word. If a musician wants to express themself, they might as well choose a message and lyrics that people can actually hear and enjoy. I used to wake up to louder music, but one morning, I found myself filling in the missing word to a two-part profanity, repeated often in a song still on the airwaves, and the missing word was 'God'. When I realized that their song was causing me to actively participate in their profanity, I had to switch my morning radio station to The Spirit. I've stuck with it ever since, and it does start my day off well. Although the Simpson's TV show is far from providing a positive message, there is one quote that stands out in an episode when Bart was at a concert that lacked a positive message. Bart: 'Eh, making teenagers depressed is like shooting fish in a barrel.' I'm glad there's a station willing to stand up to provide a positive message. We have enough stations taking the easy route, and what does that get us as a society? Thanks, Jim

I heard about your station after asking the kids in the youth group what their favorite radio station was.? I tuned in that afternoon and have been listening ever since. I appreciate your format as it is so positive, yet realistic and?current.? I only wish that 89.1 had been around when I was a teenager. Thank you for the quality music you play and the encouragement you provide.? I've told several people about your station in the past few weeks and I know that many are now listening regularly. Keep up the good work! Jenn Z, Cedar Rapids
