KenYa See MY Future in Your Eyes Banquet
In 2006, Spanda Inc. established a health care clinic in Kipkaren, Kenya. With the advent of clean water in April of 2010, Spanda can now work to bring a full-scale dentistry program to the clinic, which will serve over 32,000 villagers.

Dentistry services are vital! Malnutrion has caused severe tooth decay and most villagers do not have the luxury of a toothbrush, toothpaste or dental floss. Instead they use “bottle brush” tree limbs to brush their teeth.

The KenYa See MY Future In Your Eyes Dental Banquet will help bring the highly needed Dentistry services to Kipkaren, Kenya. All proceeds will benefit the Dental Clinic in Kipkaren.

The evening will feature Kenyan food and a live & silent auction. Saturday, September 18, 2010 06:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Cost: $40 per person or $350 per table of 10

Location: Crowne Plaza Hotel 350 First Ave, SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52401

Country Music Concert
Please join us at Community Baptist Church 1120 7th avenue, Marion, Iowa 52302 starting at 7PM for a night of christian country music, testimony and Christian fellowship featuring Peter Lewis Whitebird.

A former Pastor, Pete and Judy served Trinity Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas for five years. Then God called Pete to be an Evangelist, a traveling troubadour of the gospel. Since 1999, he has had thirteen chart-topping Christian Country radio hits, ten of which went all the way ...to Number One! With hits that include I'm Christian Country, How Much Does The World Weigh and Grandpa's Favorite Fishing Hole his music reflects true life from God's perspective and he has learned to communicate that message without being "preachy."

There is no charge for the concert, but a freewill offering will be taken to help with Pete's ministry expenses. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends, family, neighbors and please join us, and be blessed.

Operation Christmas Child
A project of international relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, encourages volunteers to fill simple shoe boxes with toys, necessity items, school supplies, candy and hand-written notes of encouragement. The gifts are then shared with children worldwide who are suffering because of natural disaster, disease, war, terrorism, famine and poverty. For many of these children, the shoe box gift will be the first gift they have ever received, letting them know they are loved and not forgotten.

For more information on how to participate in Operation Christmas Child, call 612-359-7025 or visit www.samaritanspurse.org. National Collection Week for gift-filled shoe boxes is Nov. 15-22; however, shoe box gifts are collected all year at the Samaritan’s Purse headquarters in Boone, N.C.

Iron Sharpens Iron National Men's Conference
Where: First Assembly of God in Cedar Rapids

What is Iron Sharpens Iron?

1. Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conferences are a resource for local churches offered by an on-the-ground local ministry (Focal Point Ministries). FPM serves local churches by equipping them to reach, disciple, and mobilize men.

2. Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conferences are hosted by regional ministries with a heart and specific focus on men. These independent ministries have networked together to provide a national feel. However, ISI is not a national organization. All ISI conferences follow the same format to provide consistency in the event.

3. The ISI conference is a one-day event. Conference day is Saturday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. (It is important to note that Focal Point Ministries, the local, on-the-ground ministry, serves local churches fifty two weeks a year to equip, disciple, and mobilize their men.)

4. Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conferences are equipping conferences with sixteen different equipping seminars designed specifically for men. The day opens and closes with all the men together for a time of masculine worship and exhortative messages from gifted keynote speakers, but the meat of the day are the equipping seminars.

5. Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conferences are for men of all ages (13 and up). We intentionally offer a resource that promotes and encourages intergenerational ministry. We design several of the seminars to be specific to men in different seasons of life. (This conference is for all men, not just leaders and/or pastors.)

6. Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conferences occur once a year, every year, in the same location and in the same spot in the calendar. They have become a local resource that local churches can trust and depend on.
